XL2CAD for Revit overcomes the limits and problems associated with placement of Excel spreadsheets inside Revit. It creates and maintains DXF files of named ranges in Excel that are linked in Revit. The results are lines, fills and mtext that can plot without problems and are highly portable to others.

Smart Linking & Updating
The system works by maintaining an up-to-date DXF file of named ranges in Excel spreadsheets. These DXF files are then linked in Revit. As any Excel user (with our add-in installed) makes changes to the spreadsheet, the DXF files are updated on closing the spreadsheet. Therefore the next time a Revit project is opened, it will automatically update to reflect the changes made in Excel.
Processing Speed
When the Excel user makes changes and closes the spreadsheet, the DXF is quickly updated. Our fast Excel read engine means most sheet sized tables process in a fraction of a second!
Optimized Results
We understand that you want to keep your drawing size small and regens fast. That's why we optimize the geometry we create. If the same lineweight is used across the entire row, we create one line, not one for each cell. We also merge adjacent fills and hatches resulting in the smallest block possible.
Stop jumping through hoops!
Currently there are no good options for placing spreadsheets in Revit. Processes involving converting the spreadsheet to an image leads to grainy output. Processes requiring AutoCAD take extra time and are still subject to its limitations. Our product will speed up the process during creation and maintain current representations of the spreadsheet.
