 MapWorks Points Details

MapWorks Points is a collection of Civil/Survey tools for creating points in Autodesk products including Civil3D, Land Desktop and AutoCAD.  Our adaptive engine interface detects the platform its running on and uses its objects!  When you're running on Civil3D or Land Desktop, it uses the systems points directly with no conversion required.  When you add points with our routines, you are adding AECC POINTS just like the native application.

We haven't forgotten users of basic AutoCAD or verticals such as ADT.  In this environment you are doing the same operations with customizable point blocks.

Auto Draw: Automatically connects field points with 2D or 3D linework and symbols.  Generates 2DPoly, 2DPolyFit, 3DPoly, Spline or C3D feature objects as controlled by the user for each code.

• Supports Trimble TGO Style, Autodesk Fieldbook Style, AASHTO SDMS Figure Code, Eagle Point Coding or Generic Connect methods.
• Works straight from selected point objects in the drawing or an external point file.
• Handles curve codes to form arc segments on 2DPolys or automatically graded segmented 3DPolys.
• Establish reusable definition files for different projects or clients.
• 2DPolyFit and Spline objects are very appropriate for landscape edging, etc.

Traverse: Allows typed entry of raw traverse data and importing from multiple formats.  User configurable editor allows quick and easy entry of traverses in angle right, azimuth, deflection, bearing & distance and more.  Define loops and calculate closure.  Plots resulting points and optional traverse and sideshot lines.  Imports raw data files.

• MapWorks Raw Data (*.drd)
• AASHTO SDMS Project (*.prj)
• Autodesk Fieldbook (*.fbk)
  • Leica GSI Raw Data (*.gsi)
• Topcon FC-6/GTS-7 (*.gts7)
• Tripod Data Systems (*.rw5)
    Add:
Single: Add single points based on known or picked coordinates.
Interpolated: Creates all qualifying points on line using two points, beginning elevation and increment.
Radial: Add multiple points at a specified distance around a point.
Offsets on Line: Add multiple points that are offsets of a line defined by two points.
On Grid: Add multiple points evenly spaced on a rectangular grid.
On Intersections: Add multiple points at the intersections of linear geometry.
On Line: Add multiple points (with interpolated elevation) between two points.
On Objects: Add multiple points on the vertices of AutoCAD objects.
On Slope: Add a point at a picked location with elevation calculated at designated slope.
Difference: Calculates & places points with calculated elevation difference between point and a surface.  This tool requires LDT or C3D.
    Convert:
Blocks: Converts blocks in the current drawing to application points.
LDT Points: Converts LDT Points in the current drawing to application points.
Text: Converts plain text files with comma, space or other delimiters to application points.
    Display:
Rotate at Node: Rotates selected points at their insertion point.
Zoom All: Zooms the display to show all points.
Zoom To: Zooms to a specified point with controllable scale factor.
    Edit:
Average: Averages selected points with analysis allowing creation of average point.
Clusters: Analyzes multiple clusters of points and removes all but one point in each cluster.
Delete Dups: Deletes duplicates points based on same or close coordinates.
LineSnap: Moves points perpendicular to designated linear segments, snapping the point to the line.
Match: Performs a rotation, scale and translate based on two pairs of points.
Organize: Organize points into layers and/or groups while optionally assigning styles.
Rotate: Rotates points with rotation angle optionally calculated from reference and target points.
Scale: Scales selected points allowing independent XYZ scale factors.
Spreadsheet: Allows single or mass changes to point data in a spreadsheet grid.
Translate: Translates selected points with (optionally calculated) delta xyz values.
    File:
Combine: Combines multiple point files into a single target file.
Compare: Compares two point files with detailed comparison report.
Convert Multiple: Converts multiple point files to a designated target format.
Convert Text: Converts a single text file (space, comma, tab delimited) to defined format.
View/Print: Quickly view point files with details as file is clicked.
    Inquiry:
Compare: Detailed comparison of designated points to those within search radius.
Inverse: Inverses between points with distance, delta and slope details.
Report: Generates detailed point reports with user controlled columns.  Includes Lat/Lon and alignment station/offset fields.
Status: Returns information about the status of points (such as next number) in the current drawing.
Import: Imports points from multiple point databases into the current drawing.
Export: Exports designated points to supported file formats.
