I can't reproduce problem (1), which is BEFORE you pick. I placed a featureline adjacent to the pipe with the same elevations and used it's quick edit hoving. From what I see it shows the same labels the same way (except our graphics are easier to see on a white background). Also press F1 to review the help so you can see what our intensions are.

I think we found problem (2) and fixed it, try tonights build.

We still need to add traps for values that push the pipe out of the range of the begin/end structures. If the value is lower that the stucture, lower the sump value and indicate this on the command line. If the value is higher than the rim perhaps just a warning [Alert Dialog] because raising the rim above what was likely already surface is not going to work, right?

What if pipes don't end with structures but instead join other pipes? Change the inverts of the other pipes without checking the impact of that? As I said, it feels like a cascading problem could arise.

I'm talking about the Civil 3D labels. The inverts change but not the slope label until you exit the command.

Yes, don't worry about other pipes for this routine, just one pipe at a time for this Quick routine. There is always a structure separating the pipes and separating the inverts.. even if it is just the NULL structure object.

Yes, the sump should always move down below the lowest new pipe invert, and up when the lowest invert moves up.

A warning for going up past rim would be good.

Just did a quick test.

Using pipe slope, I can only adjust the upstream invert by entering a negative value for the downstream slope.

We need to be able to enter a value for the upstream pipe slope direction, and have the upstream invert change while holding the downstream invert.

We're changing the logic to a single overall slope. It's less confusing, after all you don't have two separate labels showing upstream, downstream slopes and water only flows one way! We have added the end being held to the prompts for confirmation.

As far as updates, we're committing the transaction on each pipe edit (slope or invert) and the profile seems to change immediately. However I expect that any Civil3D labels will not change until the command is done.

As for validity, right now we're issuing alerts if the new ends fall outside the range of the linked structures. Once the dust settles on everything else we can see about changing the structures.

We have added the end being held to the prompts for confirmation.

Yes, you won't need to do that...

We simply want the invert that the temporary slope arrow is pointing at to change... while holding the invert elevation that is behind the arrow tail.

This is exactly how the Quick Elevation Edit tool works on feature lines which you can easily demonstrate to yourself.

Test this morning:

1) Sump of manhole is not moving down with pipe invert. Message says exceeds structure range.
2) Profile does not update after making edits in Plan.

While hovering over the Profile Part, the temporary graphics now show in that area (not on the plan). Keep in mind there is a limited amount of information available in profile view and the endpoint graphics may not be exactly on the endpoints (if you are zoomed tight enough to notice).

Quick Pipe Edit is so-so. I personally prefer to edit my inverts in profile.

It should work in profile view. Can you make any recommendations to go beyond "so-so".
