It's no surprise to you that DWG files are usually the largest files in any project. But what may surprise you is that almost every drawing contains unused information that can bloat the file, some as much as 90%. Its an old problem that is getting worse instead of better, with the recent problem of unused groups and layer filters that seem to jump from drawing to drawing. This can lead to files taking up to 9 times as long to load, and more importantly 9 times as long to send to a client via email.
Even if a user spent the time (un-billable time) to open each drawing and use AutoCAD's purge, you still wouldn't begin to remove the excess bloat that can hide in drawings. Now you can simply select multiple files and wait a few seconds while your drawings shrink! This tool does not open the drawings in the editor, so it can rip through hundreds of drawings in only couple of minutes!
