Drawing Browser is a tool for instant reporting and cataloging of drawings using your Internet Browser! Choose your starting directory, then select specific files or let the program navigate the current folder and all 'nested' subfolders. Create attractive HTML tabular reports in seconds without knowing anything about HTML. Important: If you want to find text strings inside drawings, the Drawing Search inside our ToolPac product is your best tool.
Search Capabilities Specify the fields to search and enter your search word(s). Only the drawings containing the search strings show up in the report. Search the 'Drawing Properties' included in AutoCAD 2000 or higher (and R14 with Express Tools). Possible searches include: - Words in the 'Keywords' and 'Comments' Properties.
- CAD Personnel in the 'LastSavedBy' field.
- Drawing Approval using custom properties like APPROVED=YES.
Output Fields - Easily specify the fields (32 to choose from) you want to include, and in the order that you want them to appear.
- Drawing Preview Bitmap, extracted from the drawing at report time to assure latest preview.
- Operating System properties such as Fullname, Version (R2000+, R14, R12/R13), Date, Time, and Size in KB.
- DwgProps information such as Subject, Author, Keywords, Comments, Created, Modified, LastSavedBy, Revision, EditingTime.
- Associated DWF Files as linked or embedded.
- Associated Raster Files (PNG, GIF, BMP, or JPG) as linked or embedded.
DWF & Raster Compatible If you keep associated DWF files with your DWG's, you can either include a link (for full screen) to the DWF or actually embed the found DWF in the report. If you choose the embedded option you can specify the viewport size (in pixels), meaning the interactive DWF view can be as large or small as desired. Working in a similar fashion to DWF's, if you can link or embed associated raster files (PNG, GIF, BMP, or JPG). User Settings Great care was taken to insure that the user has total control over the outcome of the report. Options of field sizes, field titles, folders, html table properties, and all other controls are easily set by the user with up-front controls. All settings are retained so the dialog behaves the same on the next run. Supports user specified search path so that associated files can even be stored on different drives and paths and still be found during the report. Auto Browser Launch Choose your settings and click the 'Process' button. The progress bar and current processing file keep you informed of the status. Once processing is complete the DwgBrowser automatically launches your default web browser with the report loaded. If your browser is already open the contents change to the new report. Sample Reports DwgBrowser provides two primary (but highly customizable) reporting methods. | Using 'One Record Per Row' as in the first example allows for a large number of user selected fields which become columns to produce detailed directory listings. | | Using 'Multiple Records Per Row' as in the second example to produce tables such as symbol catalogs. In this mode the selected fields become stacked rows in the order chosen. |
MS Office Compatible Import DwgBrowser's reports directly into MS-Word, MS-Excel, or even Access 2000 or higher! You can use your web browser to print the reports, or import them into your html compatible word processor for more pagination control. Makes creating a symbol catalog a one minute process! Relative Paths This option allows your results to be portable. Move the results to other drives, UNC's, or even publish to a website on the internet.
